Terms and Conditions – online competitions for The Times Citizen Traveller
1. The competition will run on www.thetimes.co.uk website from June 2 until
Wednesday July 4.
2. Closing date for entries to the monthly competition is midnight on
Wednesday July 4.
3. Closing dates for entries to the weekly competitions throughout the month
of June 2012 are midnight on June 6, 13, 20 and 27.
4. The competition is open to all residents of the UK aged 18 or over, except
employees of Times Newspapers Limited (“TNL”), DDG Retreat, Monarch Airlines
and their associated, affiliated or subsidiary companies, and their
families, agents, or anyone connected with this competition, including the
third party promotional partners. The competition is only open to amateur
photographers.
5. The winner is responsible for ensuring they are able to accept the monthly
and weekly prizes (the “Monthly Prize” and “Weekly Prize” respectively and
together the “Prizes”) as set out and in accordance with these terms and
conditions, in the event the winners are unable to do so, then the TNL
reserves the right to redraw the Prizes. Entries which appear fraudulently
generated will be disqualified.
6. Entry is free but entrants should be aware that they may be subject to
local call charges depending on their own individual arrangements for
Internet access.
7. An eligible entrant must be an individual and must submit an entry in the
form provided by TNL under this promotion including their name, postal
address and e-mail address.
8. By entering, all eligible entrants agree to abide by each and all these
terms and conditions. TNL reserves the right, with or without cause, to
exclude entrants and withhold Prizes for violating any of these terms and
conditions. TNL reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions. Any
amendments will be published on the Website.
9. There is one Monthly Prize, and one Weekly Prize for each week of the month
of June 2012. Entries must be the original work of the author (who is an
amateur photographer) and not previously published. The winner will be the
entrant whose photograph, in the opinion of the judges, demonstrates the
greatest flair, technique and originality.
10. All winners will be notified by email within twenty eight (28) days from
the closing date. All reasonable endeavours will be made to contact the
winner during this time. If a winner cannot be contacted or is not
available, TNL reserves the right to choose another winner from the entries
which were received before the closing date.
11. The Monthly Prize is a four-night stay at DDG Retreat, Casares, Andalucia
including return standard class flights with Monarch Airlines for two adults
aged 18 or over, bookable in advance and subject to availability.
Accommodation is in a DDG Retreat casa, subject to availability, and
includes daily breakfast, one complimentary meal for 2 (excluding drinks)
and a bottle of wine or champagne on arrival (provided at the prize
providers discretion). The prize also includes a beauty products gift
selected at the discretion of DDG Retreat. DDG Retreat’s terms and
conditions with regard to accommodation apply (see www.ddgretreat.com).
The prize will include a pair of return economy class flights (including
airport taxes) with Monarch Airlines from Birmingham, Gatwick, Luton or
Manchester airports to Malaga. Flights are offered strictly subject to
availability, at the prize providers discretion, and may not be available on
all dates on all flights during peak periods such as Christmas, New Year,
school and Bank Holidays. Flight extras are not included in the prize
(flight extras include, but are not limited to, pre-allocated seats and the
carriage of hold/checked-in baggage)
The prize is non-transferable and is to be used by the registered prize
winner. No cash alternative is available.
Transport to and from UK airport and to and from Malaga airport is not
included in the Monthly Prize (though can be arranged by DDG Retreat on the
winner’s behalf at an additional expense to the winner) and additional
extras; for example, food, beverages, spa treatments and car hire are not
included. The winner and his/her guest are responsible for their own travel
insurance.
The prize must be taken in full by 29th October 2012 and is subject to
availability at the time of booking and excluding UK and Spanish public
holidays. No cash alternative is available.
12. The winner is responsible for any payment over and above the Monthly Prize
as outlined. It is the winner’s responsibility to ensure the she or he (and
their guest) has a passport that is valid for 12 months, and any necessary
visas.
